Guardando vecchie foto sul mio cellulare ho ritrovato queste bellissime immagini dei Giardini la Mortella ad Ischia,e non ho potuto fare a meno di condividerle,ricordando quanto ne fossi rimasta affascinata, dalla loro bellezza sì, ma anche dalla grande storia d'amore che c'è alla base della loro nascita e del loro sviluppo!
C'è poco da dire,chi ama la natura non può non perdersi in questo luogo paradisiaco,questo giardino incantevole,creato in 50 anni con amore e determinazione da Lady Susana Walton, la moglie del compositore inglese Sir William Walton.La donna ha iniziato la costruzione del giardino per offrire al marito un rifugio nel quale lavorare in serenità ed isolamento. Mentre William componeva, Susana creava personalmente per lui il loro nido di pace e di amore,un capolavoro fatto di fiori e piante; piantando instancabilmente,dando forma e struttura ad un terreno impervio e poco promettente,propagando ed irrigando,e credendo nella forza dei sogni e dell'amore verso suo marito,man mano ha creato un giardino che oggi ospita migliaia di piante rare ed esotiche,nel quale è impossibile non perdere la cognizione del tempo guardandosi intorno incantati come bambini!Per Lady Walton,la Mortella è stata la missione di una vita,un esempio di devozione e venerazione,un monumento alla persona e alle opere del marito William,e un toccante ricordo e dimostrazione del grande amore che li ha legati. La mia è stata una visita molto gradevole e ricca di sorprese,sia per la particolare dislocazione del giardino che si estende su terrazzamenti a salire verticalmente,sia per la varietà delle piante esotiche!Si parte dal giardino a Valle,chiuso,intimo,accogliente e profumatissimo,fino ad arrivare al giardino in collina,solare,aperto verso il mondo esterno grazie alle molte vedute mozzafiato!Ho trovato questo posto incantevole,al tramonto da togliere il fiato,un luogo dove la natura trapela amore e maestosità,da non perdere! E voi li conoscevate? Ci siete mai stati?
Looking at some old photos on my cellphone I found these beautiful pictures of the Mortella Gardens in Ischia, and I could not help but share them, remembering how fascinated I was, by their beauty yes, but also by the great love story that c 'Is the basis of their birth and their development!
There is little to say, nature lovers can not miss this heavenly place, this lovely garden created in 50 years with love and determination by Lady Susana Walton, wife of English composer Sir William Walton. For Lady Walton, Mortella was the mission of a life, an example of devotion and veneration, a monument to William's husband and man's work, and a touching Memory and demonstration of the great love that tied them. My visit has been very pleasant and full of surprises, both for the special location of the garden that extends on terraces to climb vertically, as well as for the variety of exotic plants! It starts from the garden in Valle, closed, intimate, welcoming and Up to the garden on the hill, sunny, open to the outside world thanks to the many breathtaking views!
